How Design is Affecting Your Business

Your brochure is one of the most important components of your marketing scheme. It can build interest, create a desire for your products and services or provide information and product details for prospects who are already interested. Whether you want to attract federal government agencies, sell your product, or get people to come into your store, brochure design is the most pivotal component of a successful brochure.

Why?

• Eighty Percent of people will not open a brochure that doesn’t offer a prime benefit or appeal to them emotionally. Boring covers make for bored prospects. The front cover of your brochure must appeal to your customer base on an emotional level. Together with the copy, the design must ask a provocative question or make a benefit statement.

• Customer perception is based directly on the look of your marketing materials. Have a look at your current brochure. Are the graphics compelling? Is the copy active and exciting? Is the design interesting and attractive to your clients? Be sure you can answer “yes” to all of these questions.

• Your brochure design should tell customers exactly what your product does and why they need it. Subtlety is not the way to go, but designs that are too cluttered and complex can leave readers confused or give them too much to figure out. Your design should be to the point and enthusiastic. If not, your customers might not quite understand what you’re selling.
